A7 Envelope Size and Guidelines

A7 Envelope Size

If you plan on sending invitations to an event in the near future, you should study the different types of envelopes available to you. One of the more popular envelope sizes when it comes to wedding and party invitations is A7. So, how large is an A7 envelope?

An A7 envelope measures 5-1/4 × 7-1/4 inches in size. It is one of the more popular envelope choices for sending greeting cards, party invitations, and announcements.

In the following sections, I will go into greater detail about A7 envelopes and how they differ from other envelope types and sizes.

A7 Card and Envelope Size

A7 Card and Envelope Size

When sending invitations to an upcoming event, you don’t need to send large cardstock to your potential guests. You can stick with something small, neat, and elegant, such as A7 notes.

An A7 note typically measures 5-1/8 × 7 inches in size, which provides plenty of room to provide details (date, venue, guest option). The best thing about invitations is that you can include QR Codes for the recipients to scan and learn more about the event.

So, if you’re going to use A7 cards, which is a popular choice for wedding invitations, party invitations, greeting cards, and general announcements, then you should find an envelope that fits best with it.

Thankfully, you don’t have to look very hard. An A7 card will fit inside an A7 envelope, which measures 5-1/4 × 7-1/4 inches in size. When enclosed, its dimensions will minimally shrink to around 5-1/8 × 7 inches, which is the exact dimensions of an A7 card.

Why Choose A7 Cards and Envelopes?

Generally speaking, you can choose any card you want to deliver any message you want. For instance, printing greeting cards on #10 paper, which is 4-1/4 × 9-1/2 inches in size, isn’t completely unheard of.

The main thing that any homemade card enthusiast should know is that the size of the card and envelope will give a good idea of what message it is you want to say. For instance, invitations are generally found in smaller cards measuring around 4 to 7 inches by 7 to 8-1/2 inches.

In addition, smaller cards are cheaper to purchase and print as opposed to larger ones, which is something to consider if you plan on inviting dozens of people to an event.

A7 Envelope Size Comparison

To give you a rough idea of how large an A7 envelope is in comparison to other envelope sizes, you can take a look at the following table:

Envelope TypeEnvelope Size (inches)
A13-5/8 × 5-1/8
A24-3/8 × 5-3/4
A44-1/4 × 6-1/4
A64-3/4 × 6-1/2
A75-1/4 × 7-1/4
A85-1/2 × 8-1/4
A95-3/4 × 8-3/4
#104-1/8 × 9-1/2

So, from the table above, we can see that the smaller the number is following the A letter, the smaller the envelope is.
